Tuesday morning Conor McGregor left MMA fans speechless as he announced his retirement from MMA. This announcement was met with much speculation given that McGregor is currently the UFC’s featherweight champion. While many believed the retirement announcement to be a troll job, McGregor’s coach confirmed the news.

UFC President Dana White then broke the news on SportsCenter that McGregor had been pulled from UFC 200 after refusing to show up to a press conference.

White explained that Nate Diaz will fly to Las Vegas and the pair will discuss a replacement opponent for Diaz. In addition, White announced that UFC 200 will now pick up another fight to make up for McGregor’s withdrawal.

“Obviously we still have a good relationship with Conor,” White said. “I respect Conor as a fighter and I like him as a person. But you can’t decide not to show up to these things. You have to do it.”
