On Friday night in the co-main event of Bellator 149 Kimbo Slice and Dada 5000 squared off in their highly anticipated grudge match.
The fight was a strange one to say the least, with both men exhausted early on. The exhaustion was so horrible that referee John McCarthy was forced to stand the fighters up when Kimbo had Dada in mount.
Ultimately Slice was awarded the win after Dada 5000 was unable to stand and fell to the canvas. While the finish received quite a bit of negative attention from viewers, it was revealed post-fight that Dada 5000 suffered renal failure as a result of the 40 pound weight cut and was placed on life support overnight, but has since been doing well.
