On Friday night Frankie Edgar defeated Chad Mendes via KO in the main event of the TUF 22 Finale to become the #1 contender at featherweight. Following the fight UFC President Dana White stated that no one can deny Frankie, and that he would get whatever he wanted in terms of a title shot.

The following night at UFC 194 Conor McGregor defeated Jose Aldo via KO in just 13 seconds. Since then there has been talk of McGregor going up to lightweight to challenge the winner of this Saturday’s Dos Anjos vs. Cerrone II title fight.
