Cormier: ‘If I Lose Twice, I’ll Probably Be Done, Because Legacy Is Everything’

Daniel Cormier

Current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is expecting to fight Jon Jones for the second time. He’s coming off of a win over Alexander Gustafsson and now will wait to see when/if the UFC reinstates the former champ.

Recently, in an interview on Jon Anik and Kenny Florian’s podcast, the champ said realistically, if he were to lose again, or lose twice, he would probably decide to call it quits and retire from the sport. Man, so that Jones fight is really going to be huge for DC.

Check it out!

“Let’s say the wheels start to fall off and I lose or I lose twice. I’ll probably be done. My resume, my career and my legacy in this sport means more to me then collecting some checks. I’m going to do it until I’m not competitive and when I’m not competitive and not winning at the level that I’m winning now, I’ll walk away. Yes, legacy does matter to me and I want to leave a good one in MMA.”
