Johny Hendricks Plans On Making Us All Remember

Former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks (17-3 MMA) will be looking to make a statement when he squares off with Tyron Woodley at October’s UFC 192 event in Houston.

“Bigg Rigg” is currently ranked as the welterweight divisions #1 contender, but was ultimately passed-over for a title shot by UFC officials in favor of former UFC interim champion Carlos Condit.

With that said, Hendricks is planning on using his UFC 192 fight with Woodley to showcase why he is still the welterweight divisions most dangerous threat. His words via Sherdog:

“Don’t get me wrong, I say this a lot: You’re only as good as your last fight. The only thing is, my last five or six fights have all been top five or better. Carlos Condit came off of a year and he fights No. 12. Thiago Alves is a tough dude, he is, but he’s not a top five dude. Guess what? I can go back in there, get another win. I can showcase why I’m No. 1, and why they shouldn’t have given a No. 4 ranked [fighter a title shot] over a No. 1 ranked. People [are going] to relearn why they are scared of my hands. My combinations, my kicks, everything’s looking good. It’s time to focus back on power — hitting somebody and seeing if they can withstand that punch.”
