Kimbo Slice Was Choked Out 3 Times Training for Shamrock Fight

The drama surrounding the main event of Bellator 138 is endless, but there seems to be a reasonable explanation for everything. Before Kimbo Slice was taken down by Ken Shamrock with the greatest of ease, fans could hear them talking while in a tie-up. Slice recently explained that he was simply talking trash to hype himself up.

Moments after the tie-up, Slice was flattened out and it seemed like it was all over for him. Shamrock had a tight rear naked choke locked in and it almost looked as if Slice had tapped out, but referee “Big John” claims he thinks Slice was contemplating submitting.

Slice also explains how he was forced to pass out multiple times in training with American Top Team. “I feel great about it. I wanted to knock his a** out, I really did,” Slice told MMA Fighting. “Like I said, I was put to sleep three times in training. Tapping out is not an option. Everyone that knows me felt my spirit when I said, ‘I’m coming to fight. This is gonna be a fight,’ you know? Losing was not an option. I put my heart in there, and I left my heart in the ring. That’s how I come to fight.”
