Rory MacDonald Told He Will Not Fight For The Title

Top UFC welterweight fighter Rory MacDonald has been informed by the UFC that he will not be booked for a slot against Robbie Lawler.

UFC Tonight on FOX Sports 1 broke the news this evening during their weekly broadcast.

MacDonald was originally promised the winner of UFC 181’s main event. The Canadian was even sitting cageside in Vegas on Dec. 6.

“It’s all good,” MacDonald told UFC Tonight. “I’m just gonna light up whoever is next. Like always.”

With MacDonald out, it would appear as if a trilogy match between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler is in the works, but that’s just an educated-guess.
