There have been many questions surrounding the signing of Phil Brooks, also known as CM Punk, the former multiple WWE title holder who was signed to the UFC recently.
It was announced during last night’s UFC 181 broadcast that Brooks would be making his UFC debut sometime in the future, although a date was not given.
UFC President revealed more details regarding the signing to ESPN.
“He wanted to fight here. He wanted to give it a shot, so we gave him an opportunity. It’s not like Brock Lesnar. We’re not going to throw the kitchen sink at him. Lesnar had a wrestling background. [CM Punk] is going to fight a guy who is 1-0, 1-1, 2-1 — something like that.”
