After Bellator granted Eddie Alvarez his unconditional release from the promotion earlier today fans knew it was only a matter of time before the UFC signed Alvarez.

Now it seems things are back to their original plans, with Eddie Alvarez meeting Donald Cerrone in the cage at UFC 178.

Cerrone had a fight booked with Bobby Green prior to the announcement, however no word has been given as to what will happen with Green since he has been bumped out of the fight by Alvarez.
