In what was sure to be a violent and entertaining scrap, UFC bantamweights John Lineker and Francisco Rivera met in the octagon to duke it out.
Lineker was making the jump back up to bantamweight after struggling to make weight at flyweight.
Lineker came in to strike and Rivera landed nice right hand. Oh dear lord. The two of the stood right in front of each other and literally just threw wild punches with every thing they had.
Neither of them backed up. They just stood and threw. Eventually Rivera got clipped and went down. Lineker tried to jump in and land ground and pound to finish the fight but Rivera covered up and was able to get back to his feet.
Then, they went right back to slugging. Whatever you imagined this fight looking like, that’s what happened. They stood and looked to throw until one of them dropped.
Eventually Rivera dropped down again and this time went for a takedown. Lineker locked in a guillotine right away and Rivera was forced to tap out. WOW.
RESULT: Lineker wins via submission (Guillotine) at 2:08 of round 1.
