Mauricio “Shogun” Rua may have made his way back into the win column at “UFC 190”, but the former champion will have to wait to build off that momentum. It was confirmed on “UFC Tonight” last week that Rua will be sitting on the sidelines until next year due to shoulder surgery.
“Shogun” Rua walked into the octagon at “UFC 190” looking for his first victory since December 7, 2013 at “UFC Fight Night 33”. After suffering consecutive losses to Dan Henderson and Ovince Saint Preux, he was happy to earn a decision victory over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in Brazil.
The 2005 PRIDE Middleweight Grand Prix winner wanted a quick turnaround as “Rampage” Jackson called him out for a rematch of their PRIDE fight, but fans and Jackson will have to wait until “Shogun” is fully healed for that to take place.
Should “Rampage” wait it out and not take a fight until “Shogun” comes back, or should he keep climbing up the ranks towards a title? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!
