UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub recently announced that he was stepping away from the octagon for an indefinite period of time.
Schaub made the announcement during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience where he stated he was taking a break from active competition in order to focus on his “Fighter and the Kid” podcast.
Apparently the podcast has been very good for Schaub financially, so much in fact the he is willing to bet that his podcast t-shirts are outselling the UFC’s Reebok ‘fight kits’, his words to MMAJunkie Radio:
“As far as UFC fight kits sold, I’m willing to bet we sold more t-shirts this year than the UFC has sold ‘fight kits.’
He continued:
“I’m not going to give the number out, but we’re doing well. You don’t want to brag about that kind of stuff. Is that really a compliment? Saying that we outsold UFC fight kits? Those things are terrible.”
Ouch! Do you think Schaub is right, are the UFC ‘fight kits’ really that terrible?
