It has been almost a month since Holly Holm shocked the world and put an end to Ronda Rousey’s dominance in the UFC.
Rousey, the former UFC bantamweight champion has hardly been heard from or seen since being knocked out by the new champion at UFC 193.
People Magazine quoted Rousey being “really f—ing sad” since losing, derailing her dreams of one day retiring undefeated and regarded in history as the best athlete to ever compete in combat sports.
People also took a quote from ESPN The Magazine’s “Ideas of the Year” issue that comes out on Friday with Rousey saying, “It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”
The loss has set back Rousey on cementing her legacy, but she is still optimistic on her future. “Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done,” she says. “But f— it, maybe I can.”
Will the loss fuel Rousey to be more fierce of a competitor and take her to another level? Time will tell in a rematch with Holly Holm that UFC President Dana White says is happening, which will prove to be the biggest chapter of Ronda Rousey’s story.
