Since UFC 193, fans have been anxiously awaiting an announcement as to whether or not Ronda Rousey would get an immediate rematch against Holly Holm.

While Holm stated that she would like to stay active, the UFC brass seemed adamant that Holm sit out and wait for a rematch with Rousey, potentially at UFC 200.

Now, according to UFC President Dana White, Holm will face another opponent prior to having a rematch with Rousey.

He made the announcement on UFC Tonight:

“Holly Holm will fight before she fights Ronda.”

“You will see Ronda Rousey fight again. Ronda has dedicated the last three-plus years to working hard here. Not just fighting, but promoting and taking the sport and the UFC to a whole other level. Ronda has some well-deserved time off but she will fight this year.”
