The UFC’s recent Reebok deal has everyone in the MMA community talking.
While many fighters are reluctant to give their opinions on the deal, others like Tim Kennedy don’t mind explaining why they dislike the deal.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that 9ine, a Brazilian company, will no longer be sponsoring fighters and working with the UFC because they believe fighters are treated unfairly.
Vitor Belfort’s wife, who is also his manager, spoke to ESPN about how her husband has apparently lost millions as a result of the Reebok deal, and 9ine no longer working with the UFC.
“As a business woman, I understand why 9ine cut ties with the UFC. Vitor has lost millions for years because of the new sponsorship policy. Thank God he is an athlete whose reach goes beyond the cage and he has other businesses. Fighting has become a hobby, but he was harmed much like the other fighters with this new business model. We have a great relationship with Ronaldo (9ine’s owner) and all the 9ine crew. We wish them success.”
