Early in 2017, it was announced that former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre would be returning to the UFC to fight UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping in his highly anticipated return to the Octagon. While no date was given for the potential scrap, UFC President Dana White revealed that the fight would indeed be taking place in 2017.
After several weeks with no further news, Bisping informed St-Pierre that he was the middleweight champion, and if St-Pierre was unwilling to fight him in July, he would give the title shot to Yoel Romero.
Now, in a video released to social media, St-Pierre informs Bisping that he has cleared his schedule for a training camp, and would be happy to fight the champ any time after October, three months after the deadline given to him by Bisping.
Expect the champ to respond sooner rather than later, and stay tuned to BJPenn.com for updates on this situation as they become available.
