In the main event of ‘UFC Fight Night: Brasilia’ Cris Cyborg returned to the Octagon for the second time as she squared off against acclaimed striker Lina Lansberg.
While Cyborg admittedly had a brutal weight cut leading up to the fight, she showed an impressive gas tank as she poured the pressure on Lansberg from start to finish.
It was in the second round however where Cyborg shined. After securing the takedown, she put on a spectacular display of ground and pound to get the TKO win in front of the Brazilian fans.
While the win was an extremely dominant one for Cyborg, Lansberg was praised quite a bit by broadcasters and fans for showing tremendous heart in the fight, and taking quite a considerable amount of damage.
With the win, the Invicta FC featherweight champion’s professional MMA record is now extended to 17-1, with her UFC record currently sitting at 2-0. Unfortunately, while Cyborg has been attempting to get the UFC to create a women’s featherweight division, UFC President Dana White has shot down the idea.
With the way things stand now, Cyborg will likely return to defend her Invicta FC belt until opportunity arises for her to return to the UFC for a superfight.
