Earlier this week, the UFC brass announced that the promotion’s historic Madison Square Garden debut, UFC 205, would be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Conor McGregor & Eddie Alvarez.
The announcement was followed up the next day by a press conference with the stars of UFC 205 for what was called the ‘UFC 205: Can’t Wait’ press conference.
McGregor was quick to begin the verbal warfare as he predicted that he would knock out the lightweight champ in the very first round in New York to become the UFC lightweight champion, and make history as the first ever simultaneous 2-division UFC champion. Prior to the press conference however, UFC President Dana White stated that McGregor would have to vacate one of the belts if he wins at UFC 205.
At the end of the UFC 205 ‘Can’t Wait’ press conference McGregor and Alvarez came face to face for the first time ahead of their November 12th fight.
When the pair came face to face, UFC President Dana White was forced to stand between the two men as things got extremely heated.
