Tonight’s UFC on ESPN+1 event was headlined by a flyweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Henry Cejudo.
TJ Dillashaw entered tonight’s title fight with the former Olympic Gold medalist on a four-fight win streak. TJ’s most recent victories both came against Cody Garbrandt, who he knocked out at both UFC 217 and UFC 227.
Having finally rid himself of his former teammate turned bitter rival “No Love“, “Killashaw” is now focused on becoming the promotions third male “champ champ”.
Meanwhile, Henry Cejudo was also last seen in action at August’s UFC 227 event in Los Angeles, where he dethroned longtime flyweight kingpin Demetrious Johnson by way of split-decision. Cejudo entered tonight’s super-fight on a three-fight winning streak.
Round one begins and Cejudo comes out quickly. TJ greets him with a low kick. Henry Cejudo charges forward with a flurry. He catches Dillashaw with a right hand that sends TJ crashing to the canvas. Henry charges after TJ and begins landing ground and pound. TJ Dillashaw scrambles back to his feet but Cejudo catches him and send him crashing back down to the floor. Once again Henry is on top with ground and pound. The referee is taking a close look. This one is all over. WOW! Henry Cejudo retains his UFC Flyweight title.
