This week, Israel Adesanya discussed the possibility of a future fight with UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones, suggesting that he’d like to collect the scalp of another GOAT contender after beating Anderson Silva this past February.

“He was right and when I heard about it – I think maybe two days after he said it – I was like, ‘Oh, really?’” Adesanya told TMZ Sports, discussing Jones’ interest in a fight with him (transcript via MMA Fighting). “I had receipts. I had some screenshots from prior and then I posted them to show that I was already on that same plane. So yeah, great minds think alike.

“It does tickle my loins,” Adesanya added. “It does make me feel some type of way. I like challenges. [Jones] is the GOAT right now, right? I’ve already killed one GOAT, I’m hunting the next.”

It did not take long for Jon Jones to respond to this comment from Israel Adesanya. From the sounds of it, he’s taken issue with Adesanya’s claim that he ‘killed’ Anderson Silva.

“If you think you killed 44 yr old Anderson, you didn’t,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “I’m not really sure what fight you’ve been watching. You got past the legendary GOAT, now come fuck with the King of the jungle. I’ll make you call me daddy by the third.”
