Dana White has always had a pretty good eye for future stars. From the sounds of it, that’s what he sees when he looks at former Invicta champ and current UFC featherweight contender Megan Anderson.
White praised Anderson, who returns to the Octagon at UFC Rochester this weekend, in a recent interview with NYUP.com.
“What she needs is experience. She needs to continue to fight and get that experience,” White said. “She’s very talented and could definitely be something (in the UFC).”
At UFC Rochester, Megan Anderson will share the cage with Canada’s Felicia Spencer, who is making her promotional debut. The Australian featherweight contender will look to build on the momentum of an impressive — if slightly controversial — stoppage for former UFC bantamweight title challenger Cat Zingano in her last fight.
Anderson is currently 9-3 overall, and 1-1 in the UFC. She came up short in her debut with the promotion, losing a decision to former champ and title challenger Holly Holm.
In the same interview Dana White shared his thoughts on the UFC Rochester main event, which will pit Kevin Lee against former UFC lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in a welterweight contest.
“I love this fight,” White said. “I love RDA. RDA is always my gauge on how good a guy really is. And these two are going to be in each other’s face. It should be a hell of a fight. I love this fight.”
What do you think of Dana White’s praise for Megan Anderson? Do you think she’s got the potential to become a big star for the UFC?
