A welterweight fight between Sage Northcutt and Mickey Gall served as the co-main event tonight’s UFC on FOX 22 fight card in Sacramento, California.
Round one begins and Gall presses the action early. He lands a left jab and then dives in for a takedown attempt. He gets it and begins working from full guard. He quickly moves to half guard and unloads a punch to the body. Gall is isolating Sage’s neck here and looking to setup a choke. He gives up on that and transitions to side control. Sage explodes but gives up his neck. Mickey has the guillotine choke but Sage is defending well. Northcutt pops his head out and winds up on top. Sage opts to stand up and land a kick. Gall stands up and Sage is talking to him. Sage throws a kick but Mickey catches it and scores another takedown. Gall is working from full guard here. He tries to step over but Sage defends. Good shots from the top by Gall. He moves to mount and lands a nice left as the horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and Mickey lands a left jab to start. Sage fires back with a right hand that lands. Sage lands a huge right hands and Gall looks to pull guard. Sage says stand up and lands a heavy left hook that wobbles Gall. Mickey fires off a right hand and it connects. Sage is hurt. Gall takes the fight to the floor and gets Sage’s back. He locks in a rear-naked choke and Sage is forced to tapout. What a performance from Mickey Gall!
