Tuesday morning news broke that UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos had been forced to pull out of his UFC 196 lightweight title fight with Conor McGregor on March 5th.
While there was certainly no shortage of top ranked contenders offering to fight McGregor on short notice, the UFC ultimately opted to go with Nate Diaz as a fill-in opponent for McGregor.
Tuesday evening Rafael dos Anjos shared a photo on Twitter of his broken foot in an attempt to silence critics.
Sorry to all my real fans and @ufc,I never cancel any fight due to injury but accidents happen #Jesus #truechampion pic.twitter.com/wrV58w9KaS
