Nate Diaz’s coach on Conor McGregor rematch: ‘What do you think is going to happen with three months of training?’

UFC 196

Nate Diaz took the biggest fight of his career with just 10 days notice against the biggest star in the UFC, the featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

With just 10 days notice stepping in for an injured Rafael dos Anjos, Diaz was out partying in Cabo when he received the call to fight McGregor and with a bit of negotiation, the fight was made. Diaz ended up outclassing “The Notorious” and handing him his first loss in the UFC.

Diaz’s boxing coach Rich Perez spoke with Submission Radio recently and talked about the reported rematch between McGregor and Diaz.

When asked how he thinks a rematch will go with McGregor, Perez said (at 26:38), “You know my answer. What would your answer be?

“When Nate is in shape and has no injuries, he dominates. He dominates easy. He stops people, beats them, they don’t have a chance.”

Perez went on to add that McGregor had a full camp preparing for a fight while Nate obviously did not.

“And, McGregor had a full camp training and he even moved up weight to get stronger. Nathan was out enjoying himself going to Cabo. You know, eating and drinking and having fun and they call him.

“If it took him two weeks to dominate a guy that is undefeated (in the UFC) that’s the golden boy, what do you think is going to happen in three months training?”

Well fight fans, let’s answer Perez’s question.
