Earlier this evening, we compiled a list of some of the best reactions to the news that Conor McGregor‘s much-discussed fight with Floyd Mayweather had been made official. Unfortunately, this list did not include a reaction from McGregor’s most fearsome rival: Nate Diaz.
That, of course, is because Diaz took his time responding to this news. Finally, however, the Stockton-born fan favorite has chimed in on the madness. He kept it short and sweet.
“It’s gonna be a fun fight for that number-two spot,” Diaz said, along with a picture of himself, moments after he choked McGregor out back in early 2016.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz are 1-1 across two bouts, with Diaz winning the first by second-round submission, and McGregor winning the second with a thrilling, majority decision. While there is no reason to believe a third fight between the two is imminent, UFC President Dana White has suggested McGregor wants to fight for the UFC again before the end of the year. So, there’s hope.
Where do you think Nate Diaz fits into all this Mayweather vs. McGregor chaos? Does he get the winner?
