Season two of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series has come and gone and to say that it delivered would be an understatement.
In the eight weeks of action that we got this Summer, we saw 24 contracts handed out with 33 of the 40 fights ending via finish. There wasn’t a single week that didn’t have at least two fights resulting in a finish. There was actually only one where that was the case, actually.
Kicking things off for the final week of the season were featherweights JR Coughran and Alex Gilpin.
After an entertaining back and forth early on, it would end up being Gilpin who found the D’Arce choke submission for the victory in the second round.

Featherweights continued the action in the following bout as Bobby Moffett took on Jacob Kilburn.
Moffett had his previous win showcased on Dana White’s Lookin’ For a Fight which got him the spot here on this episode of the Contender Series.
Already a top prospect, Moffett continued to show why as he used his superior wrestling and grappling to dominate Kilburn on route to a second-round victory that also came via D’Arce choke.

In the light heavyweight clash that came next, we saw Kenedy Nzechukwu vs Dennis Bryant.
Wasting no time, Nzechukwu quickly went to work on the feet as he was able to hurt Bryant with head kicks before putting him away with punches in just under two minutes.

In the night’s co-main event we were treated to some lightweight talent as Devonte Smith fought Joseph Lowry.
It was a fairly competitive striking battle on the feet. Unfortunately for Lowry, after taking some shots he wasn’t liking he decided to swarm Smith as he went in for a takedown and got him against the cage.
Shortly after, Smith unleashed some devastating hellbows similar to how Travis Browne used to and put Lowry out instantly.

After starting the season off, Greg Hardy would also cap it.
This time around he would be facing Tebaris Gordon. But it didn’t last long… Hardy rushed straightforward and overwhelmed Gordon as he unloaded all he had. Punch after punch began to land and Gordon soon crumbled just 17 seconds into the fight.
