The next UFC middleweight title fight has been announced as champion Michael Bisping will defend his belt against former UFC welterweight kingpin Georges St-Pierre.
This will be St-Pierre’s first fight since November 2013, where he fought Johny Hendricks in a welterweight title fight and walked away from the sport after winning a close split decision.
With the matchup between Bisping and St-Pierre announced, there is still no date set for the bout. TMZ recently caught up with “The Count” to get the latest from the champion.
“I think GSP is waiting for his balls to grow,” Bisping said to the representative of TMZ after asking what was taking so long for the fight to be arranged. “So, I think he’s doing some bicep curls, taking some protein shakes and then when he’s big enough, then maybe we can do the fight. But, I’m here. GSP, when you’re ready, let me know. In the meantime, I’m flying to Thailand and filming a movie.”
Bisping said that he will be working in Thailand filming the movie Triple Threat, which features movies stars including Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Tiger Chen, Scott Adkins, and Michael Jai White.
“As soon as he (GSP) lets me know we can fight, then I’ll get in the gym,” Bisping said. “We were supposed to fight in July. I hear that’s not happening. Whatever, man. You let me know when you’re ready Georges, I’ll be ready.”
As for as the top contenders in the UFC middleweight division, Bisping says he will get to them after he is done with St-Pierre.
“I’ve never ducked an opponent in my life,” added Bisping. “It’s funny. The UFC offered me Georges St-Pierre. Yoel is pissed off. Jacare is pissed off. Guess what? It took me a long time to get a title shot. Did I whine like a little bitch? No. If you’re that good, keep fighting, keep beating people. Eventually, you’ll get your shot.”
