VIDEO | This new documentary shines a light on the crazy life of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone

Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone is one of the most popular fighters in the game today. This is due in part to his high-action fighting style, but it can also be attributed to his action-packed lifestyle outside the cage. When the former lightweight title challenger and current welterweight contender isn’t training and fighting, he’s rock climbing, horseback riding, hunting, wake boarding, bull riding, scuba diving, and sometimes almost dying as a result.

In a recent documentary produced by popular supplement company Onnit, fans get an unprecedented look into Cowboy’s wild life and the people in it. From his beer-drinking around a bonfire in the foothills of Colorado to his travels to New York City and Toronto, this documentary has a bit of everything. It also features commentary from figures like UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy, and Cowboy’s beloved grandmother.

Watch it in full at the top of this article.

We last saw Cowboy in action on the main card of last weekend’s UFC 206, when he scored a thunderous head-kick knockout in the third round of a bout with a fired up Matt Brown. This win extended Cowboy’s welterweight win-streak to four, as he has stopped Alex Oliveira, Patrick Cote, Rick Story and Brown since joining the division.

Prior to his jump to welterweight Cowboy was TKO’d by former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos. This loss put an end to a ridiculous eight-fight lightweight win-streak.

With his defeat of Matt Brown in the books, Cowboy is now angling for a quick turnaround, as he wants to be a part of the UFC’s return to Denver on January 28. Though he was initially eager for a fight with Demian Maia, it sounds as though he’ll instead take on talented striker Jorge Masvidal, who has been calling him out for some time.

What do you think of Cowboy’s crazy life outside the UFC’s Octagon? Sound off, PENN Nation!
