It’s no secret that UFC President Dana White is an extremely wealthy man, and that’s he’s willing to drop serious sums of money when the mood strikes.
White’s latest extravagant purchase was documented on the show Pawn Stars. On a recent episode, the UFC boss enters the famous pawn shop in search of weapons for his new “weapons room.”
“I’m building this weapons room in my house and what I’m really looking for today is a sword,” White explained on the show.
In the end, he leaves with almost $70,000 worth of samurai swords, including one that was not supposed to be for sale.
“The fact that you didn’t want to sell it made me want it more,” White said of this not-for-sale sword, which dates back to the 1600s, and was recently retouched by experts in Japan.
Among the other swords in White’s massive haul was a sword from the Japanese Civil War, which was originally priced at $10,000, but bargained down to $9,000.
“I love the whole Japanese samurai tradition and the story, and it’s a beautiful sword,” White said. “I couldn’t refuse, so I took that one too.”
