Last night, the UFC closed out the year 2017 with UFC 219, a stacked card that went down in glimmering Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event of this anticipated pay-per-view, UFC women’s featherweight queen Cris Cyborg attempted her first title defense opposite former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Holly Holm. In advance of this fight, Holm was considered one of the toughest tests of Cyborg’s incredible career thus far, and as it turns out, these suspicions proved accurate.

Despite Cyborg’s fight-ending power and vaunted aggression, Holm hung in there for five, fun rounds, even popping the champ with solid strikes of her own on a few occasions. In the eyes of some fans, she even won a few rounds. In the end, however, Cyborg’s patience, volume, aggression and cage control earned her a just unanimous decision win.

Given the thrilling nature of this five-round battle, it came as no surprise when the UFC awarded both women $50,000 Fight of the Night checks. As it turns out, though, both Holm and Cyborg will leave Las Vegas with far more cash than that.

In a Nevada Athletic Commission document obtained by MMAFighting.com, it was divulged that Cyborg was guaranteed $500,000 win or lose, against Holm, while Holm was guaranteed $300,000, win or lose. This, on top of their Fight of the Night checks and the money they’ll receive for wearing Reebok in the cage, amounts to some big money.

Co-main event fighters Khabib Nurmagomedov and Edson Barboza also made decent paydays.

Nurmagomedov received $80,000 to show and another $80,000 with his dominating decision win. Barboza, meanwhile, made $75,000 to show and would have received another $75,000 had he found away to zap Nurmagomedov.
