UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has become one of the biggest stars in MMA in just a matter of years.
“The Notorious” has set numerous records and has seemingly opened the eyes of the entire country of Ireland to the sport of MMA.
With tasting defeat for the first time in the UFC against UFC veteran Nate Diaz at UFC 196, the two are set for an immediate rematch once again in a non-title welterweight bout that will headline UFC 200. However, McGregor tweeted on Tuesday out of nowhere that he is looking to close the curtains on his MMA career.
McGregor tweeted the following:
“I have decided to retire young.
Thanks for the cheese.
Catch ya’s later.”

While it is unknown when McGregor will ultimately call it quits, the lone tweet suggests that “The Notorious” will not be sticking around the sport for very long.
