Ahead of UFC 205, Conor McGregor’s stock is at an all-time high. After suffering the first loss of his UFC career back in March at the hands of Nate Diaz, McGregor was able to avenge the loss at UFC 202 as he picked up a majority decision win over the Stockton superstar.

While there was some speculation as to what weight class McGregor’s next fight would be at, the featherweight champ remained noncommittal about returning to featherweight to fight Jose Aldo once again, despite Dana White stating that he would be stripped of the belt if he doesn’t defend it. Ultimately, McGregor signed to fight UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, the UFC’s inaugural event at the Madison Square Garden on November 12th.

The booking was certainly a controversial one, with many criticizing the UFC for allowing McGregor to move up to lightweight without stripping him of the featherweight championship. Interim UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo, who secured a rematch with McGregor by defeating Frankie Edgar at UFC 200, even went as far as to request his release from the UFC in order to retire from the sport.

In an effort to calm the situation, Dana White not only revealed that McGregor will have to relinquish one belt if he emerges from UFC 205 victorious, but also that the featherweight champ has a “personal” announcement to make “out of left field”.

Immediately after White revealed that McGregor had an announcement to make, speculation began to arise as to what the announcement would be. While McGregor gave no indication as to what the announcement was, a report emerged that stated McGregor would be taking some time off in order to mend relationships that had been strained by his busy schedule.

Now, a new report has emerged from TalkMMA that could very well spoil McGregor’s big announcement:
