Here’s Your First Look at Conor McGregor in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

UFC 202

Earlier this month, news broke that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor would be starring in the upcoming video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This news marked the latest example of the Irishman’s ever-growing superstardom and undeniable business savvy.

Today, McGregor took to Twitter to offer up a first look at his character in the video game, and we have to say it looks pretty awesome. You can see that image below.

“When the biggest need the baddest to do work, I answer the call,” the Tweet says.

In joining this game’s cast, McGregor follows in the footsteps of former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch, who starred in 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III. As of yet, it is unknown what kind of role the Irish champion’s character will play in the game, or how big that role will be. We also don’t know what the name of McGregor’s character will be. The game is expected to launch on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 4, however, so we’ll find out very soon.

After winning the UFC featherweight title with a 13-second knockout of Jose Aldo last December, McGregor has spent his last two fights two weight classes north, at welterweight. There, he partook in two legendary battles with American rival Nate Diaz, losing the first by submission and winning the second with a hard-fought majority decision. The two fighters raked in many millions of dollars for these two bouts.

Today, McGregor seems to have two possibilities on his plate. The first is to return to the featherweight division to defend his title against Aldo, who is now the interim champion. The second is to take on Eddie Alvarez for the UFC lightweight title – possibly in Madison Square Garden this November 12. It’s worth noting that McGregor apparently turned down a movie role so this latter option could be booked. Perhaps, after his role in Call of Duty, he’s had enough of the acting life for the moment.

Will you be playing Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare? Sound off, PENN nation!
