Conor McGregor’s fashion obsession is no secret. The UFC featherweight champion likes to kick ass and look good doing it. What has been a bit of a mystery, however, is just how much McGregor spends on his look.
While it’s still unknown how much McGregor drops on watches, shades, and streetwear, a recent piece from TMZ sheds some light on his suit budget.
According to TMZ, who spoke with McGregor’s tailor David Heil, McGregor spends between $4,000 to $10,000 on each custom suit he orders, and he orders anywhere from 8 to 10 for every major media tour he partakes in.
As Damon Martin of Fox Sports points out, this means that McGregor could be dropping anywhere from $32,000 to $100,000 on his snazzy, custom suits in the buildup to each of his fights.
McGregor’s suits aren’t just financially expensive either. According to the Irishman’s tailor, they also take a long time to make.
“Every outfit I make for him takes 60 hours,” Heil explained to TMZ.com. “He likes to wear his suits high and tight and really tailored, and his size changes all the time depending on his fights. So we’re always measuring him to make sure it fits exactly how he wants it.”
Heil, of course, is referencing McGregor’s recent jump from featherweight to welterweight, during which time the bulked-up Irishman made $4 million for two bouts with rival Nate Diaz (not including pay-per-view bonuses).
Given the scale of his recent paydays, it’s no surprise the Irish superstar is willing to spend so much on his look.
